Government rebates, utility incentives, and financing programs depend on your home type, location, existing heating fuel, equipment model, and the timing of the work. We confirm eligibility and program requirements before finalizing an installation.

Instant savings on qualifying high-efficiency systems

Our current offers page lists up to $2,000 in instant savings on qualifying high-efficiency systems. Terms and eligibility apply.

What we do not publish on the offers page:

  • The qualifying brands or models
  • The offer expiry date
  • Whether the savings apply to heat pumps, furnaces, air conditioners, bundled installations, or a specific equipment category
  • Whether the offer can be combined with government or utility rebates

Ask us to confirm the net price for your proposed system before approving the work.

Water-heater plans

For professionally installed water heaters, we publish plans from $24.99 monthly. Qualified homeowners may choose a rental or lease-to-own arrangement with installation and warranty options.

HVAC financing promotions

We have not published a 0% financing offer for 12 months on qualifying HVAC installations.

Do not assume that promotion applies. Ask us for the currently available HVAC financing provider, interest rate, term, approval requirements, and application process.

Ontario Home Renovation Savings heat-pump rebates

The Ontario Home Renovation Savings program is available for qualifying Ontario homeowners.

Key rules and process:

  • Pre-approval is mandatory.
  • Equipment installed before approval is not eligible for the rebate.
  • A home energy assessment is not required for the program’s heat-pump stream.
  • A participating HVAC contractor submits the pre-installation application and the post-installation application.

Published rebate amounts (based on primary heating source)

  • If you are an Enbridge Gas customer who primarily heats with natural gas:

- A qualifying cold-climate air-source heat pump is eligible for $500 per ton, up to $2,000.

- A qualifying ground-source heat pump is eligible for up to $3,000.

  • If you heat with electricity, oil, propane, or wood and are connected to the Ontario electricity grid:

- A qualifying cold-climate air-source heat pump is eligible for $1,250 per ton, up to $7,500.

- A qualifying ground-source heat pump is eligible for $2,000 per ton, up to $12,000.

Equipment eligibility notes

  • The heat pump must be an eligible model.
  • Cold-climate air-source and water-to-air ground-source systems must appear on Natural Resources Canada’s qualified products list.
  • Water-to-water ground-source systems must meet the program’s listed product requirements.

Property eligibility notes

  • The homeowner must own the property.
  • Eligible property types include detached homes, semi-detached homes, row houses, townhomes, and mobile homes on permanent foundations.
  • New-build homes occupied for six months or less do not qualify.

Contractor participation confirmation

Only participating contractors can offer the heat-pump rebate to their customers.

Our published Courtyard pages do not state whether we are currently enrolled as a participating contractor or whether we complete the rebate application on your behalf. Confirm this before signing a contract.

Timing note: after an approved installation and post-installation submission, the program states that the rebate cheque should arrive by mail within 60 days.

We install and assess heat-pump options including central ducted, ductless, and hybrid systems paired with a furnace. We review insulation, electrical capacity, ductwork, and backup heat before recommending a design.

Toronto financing through HELP

If your home is in the City of Toronto, the City’s Home Energy Loan Program (HELP) may finance eligible improvements, including air-source heat pumps, geothermal systems, high-efficiency furnaces, boilers, air conditioners, and high-efficiency water heaters.

Loan amount and term

  • Toronto homeowners can borrow up to $125,000, subject to the program’s property-value and underwriting limits.
  • Projects including heat pumps, geothermal systems, solar, or windows may qualify for a 20-year term.

Published rates and fees

Current fixed rates published by the City are:

  • 3.34% for five years
  • 4.01% for 10 years
  • 4.46% for 15 years
  • 4.75% for 20 years

A 2% administrative charge applies.

Repayment and transferability

  • Repayment is made through 11 monthly instalments per year on the property tax bill.
  • The balance can be paid off at any time.
  • The loan is attached to the property. If the home is sold before repayment, the new owner assumes the remaining balance.

Heat-pump-only project note

For a heat-pump-only project, Toronto homeowners no longer need EnerGuide pre- and post-renovation assessments.

Eligible funding can cover the heat pump and installation, required electrical upgrades, and building permits.

Process overview:

  1. You apply to HELP.
  2. You obtain approval.
  3. You select the contractor.
  4. You submit the required quotes and completion documents.

HELP allows homeowners to combine its financing with applicable utility, provincial, and federal incentives.

Income-qualified and no-cost programs

Toronto Hydro and Save on Energy describe an Energy Affordability Program for income-eligible Ontario electricity consumers. Depending on eligibility and existing equipment, support may include:

  • LED light bulbs
  • Smart thermostats
  • Insulation
  • Draft proofing
  • Cold-climate air-source heat pumps

Eligible oil-heated homeowners may qualify for a fully funded cold-climate heat-pump installation at no cost under the expanded support described by the program.

LED bulbs are also available through the program’s energy-saving kits for qualifying households.

The LED support is described as part of an income-qualified energy-affordability program, not as a published rebate specifically triggered by pairing LED lighting with a Courtyard HVAC retrofit. We do not currently publish an LED-lighting-plus-HVAC rebate.

Federal programs and tax credits

  • The federal Canada Greener Homes Grant is closed. December 31, 2025 was the last day to submit documents.
  • The Canada Greener Homes Loan is closed to new applications.
  • The federal Canada Greener Homes Affordability Program continues through provincial and territorial partners for eligible low- to median-income households, with requirements and delivery varying by location.

We do not publish a separate federal personal tax-credit amount, tax-credit eligibility rule, or tax-filing service for HVAC upgrades.

Do not treat a rebate, financing program, or Courtyard instant-savings offer as a tax credit. We confirm the incentives connected to your project, while you remain responsible for verifying any tax treatment with the applicable government agency or tax professional.
